With rich shades of bordeaux, the wine displays fresh blueberry, blackberry, fresh cherry and purple plum jam aromas, accompanied by delicate fresh herb characters on a background of nutmeg, vanilla and toasted oak. Rich in flavor, the well-balanced wine has a smooth and flowing texture and a long, elegant finish.
The wine underwent 14-21 days of fermentation on skins at 30oC (86oF), full malolactic fermentation, and 16 months of aging in French oak barrels.
Following a rainy winter, the 2013 harvest season was characterized by relatively mild weather, enabling optimal vine growth and outstanding grape quality. The harvest’s unique climatic conditions led to uniform ripening in the vineyards, leading to most of the harvested fruit arriving at the winery in September. The quality of this harvest appears to be very high.
Aging: Under proper conditions, the wine will age well for 7 years and more from time of harvest.
