Why are these changes occurring?
In compliance with new US legislation Tofutti have removed hydrogenated oils from their products. This change impacts the Better Than Cream Cheese Original and Better Than Sour Cream Sour Supreme products.
The reason for this change is that hydrogenated oils have been shown to raise cholesterol and therefore increase the risk of heart disease. In contrast, hydrogenation alters the taste and texture of foods, and gives it a nice mouth feel, so there may be a noticeable difference between the two versions.
